Abstract: On the basis of the project "Experimental Study of the Data Bank of 1:50 000 Digital Geological Map", this paper mainly deals with the work method and main technical points and steps for the application of the MAPGIS software to establish the data bank of digital geological maps and briefly introduces the difference between the computer-aided map production and GIS and application of the space data bank.
