A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE FOSSILS AND THEIR AGES OF BAIZHUSHAN FORMATION IN CENTRAIGUANGDONG PROVINCE

摘要: 本文详细介绍了开平金鸡煤矿及三水盆地的钻井地层剖面资料,作者将百足山群改称百足山组,并划分为下部伦教段、中上部小劳段二部分。根据上述剖面采获的轮藻、孢粉、植物化石,认为其时代属于早白垩世晚期。

Abstract: The paper outlines the geology of the southeastern margin of the Sanshui Basin and drilling stratigraphic Section of Baizhushan Formation in Jinjishan district, Central Guangdong Province, as well as the enclosed. fossils in the former region, newly established Lunjiao and Xiaolao Members are equivalent to the lower and middle-upper portions of Baizhushan Formation respectively, on the basis of fossils, mainly charophyta, spore and plant. the chronologic age of Baizhushan Fromation is identified as late stage of Eearly Cretaceous and the fossils like Estheria etc, by which the Formation has been recognized as Middle-Late Jurassic for a long time, are not present.
