Abstract: The Quaternary has been studied for 60 years at Zhoukoudian,Beijing. Late Pleistocene cave strata with fossils and age data mainly include deposits in the upper part of the new cave and the upper cave.But there is a record gap from 0.05 to 0.09 Ma.In 1986 the authors discovered the Donglingzhi cave deposits.They collected a certain quantity of mammal fossils and also dated the strata at about 0.019 to 0.11 Ma B.P.Thus the gap of late pleis- tocene cave strata in this area have been filled and a relatively continuous section of Late Pleistocene cave deposits has been set up in the Zhoukoudian area.
