ON THE MENGGONG’AOFORMATION

摘要: 孟公坳组的标准地点在湖南邵东县界岭乡孟公坳附近，位于岳麓山砂岩或锡矿山组之上和马栏边组之下，为陆源碎屑岩和碳酸盐岩混合沉积，一般以页岩、砂质页岩为主夹粉砂岩和生物屑灰岩。该组在湘中地区属法门阶上部，其顶界与珊瑚Ｃｙｓｔｏｐｈｒｅｎｔｉｓ的消亡基本一致，在湘南和粤北，其顶界则在Ｃｙｓｔｏｐｈｒｅｎｔｉｓ延限带之下。Abstract: The type locality of the Menggon’ao Formation is near Menggong ’ao, Jieling Township,Shaodong County,Hunan, Lying above the Yuelushan sandstone or Xikuangshan Formation andbelow the Malanbian Formation,this formation is represented by a mixture of terrigenous clasticrocks and carbonate rocks,consisting mainly of shale and sandy shale with siltstone and bioclasticlimestone,It belongs to the upper part of the Famennian stage in central Hunan and its upperboundary is in the main consistent with the disappearance of the corals Cystophrentis,while insouthern Hunan and northern Guangdong its upper boundary is below the range-zone of Cystophrentis.
