Abstract:
This paper is a relatively systematic summary of the application of re- mote sensing technique in carrying out 1: 200,000 regional geological surveys. It mainly introduces the entire process of remote sensing geological surveys characterized by a combination of visual interpretation of remote sensing ima- ges with verification by field surveys. The authors analyse and summarize the applications of Landsat images and colour composite Landsat images of diffe- rent spectrums and scales, measurements of spectrums of cultural features and computer image processing in 1:200,000 regional geological surveys and the results of the applications, and elucidate several main links of remote sensing regional geological survey work, such as the stage division of remote sensing regional geological surveys, methods for establishment of interpretation keys, criteria for the division into interpretation districts, principles and methods for field verification and comprehensive applications and mutual verification of various remote sensing techniques. Besides, a comparison is made in relation to the results and economic effectiveness achieved in the remote sensing geo- logical surveys. All these provide valuable experience for exchanges of remote sensing techniques and popularization of new techniques.
