Abstract:
The early Middle Permian Tunlonggongba Formation consists of alternating clasolite and limestone intercalated with marine volcanic pillow lava. The newly discovered volcanic copper deposit lies at the northern edge of the western side of Bangong Co-Nujiang River zone in Fuye area, Rutog County, Tibet, belongs to the Himalayan marine biogeographical region, and possesses transitional biotic characteristics. In the past, the collection of schwagerina often spanned a long time, and hence it is difficult to make comparison. The authors discovered the floating ammonite Prostacheoceras oschense firstly in Serlung area, which belongs to Cisuralian Kungurian, thus providing a basis for Tunlonggongba Formation age and mineralization time of mushirebuka copper. This paper describes stratigraphic section and fossil data of the early Middle Permian Tunlonggongba Formation, and also discusses the age of Tunlonggongba Formation as well as stratigraphic division and correlation of this formation.
