Abstract:
Located in the middle of Tianshan orogenic belt, the study area in Tianshan Mountains of China and Kyrgyzstan has complex geological structure and rich mineral resources. Previous work in Tianshan was conducted respectively in China and Kyrgyzstan. On the basis of previous studies, the authors investigated the extending trends of various tectonic units and their relationships. The examination of stratigraphy, tectonics, magmatism and ore deposits in the Tianshan Mountains of China and Kyrgyzstan in recent years has disclosed that the study area may be classified into one first-order metallogenic domain (the Paleo-Asia metallogenic domain), three second-order metallogenic provinces, 22 third-order metallogenic belts and 58 fourth-order metallogenic subbelts. This paper gives a detailed description of the geology and metallogenesis in individual metallogenic belts in the study area.
