Abstract:
Russian Far East area is an important endogenic metal cluster area in the world, where gold, silver, copper, tungsten, tin and some other mineral resources are extremely rich. The study area includes Verkhoyansk craton marginal zone in northeast North Asia craton,Verkhoyansk-Chukchi orogenic belt, Okhotsk-Chukchi orogenic (volcanic rock) belt, and Koryak-Sakhalin orogenic belt. In this paper, the authors briefly described regional tectonic evolution and geological setting for ore-forming processes of northeast Russian Far East, and summarized the ore-forming processes of main endogenic metal deposits in Okhotsk-Chukchi volcanic belt and its neighboring areas. It is considered that, in this volcanic belt, the epithermal gold-silver deposits are dominant mineral deposits in the volcanic basin, whereas the porphyry copper deposits and copper-molybdenum deposits are mainly distributed in the granitoid rock area lying within the relatively upwarping place in or on the margin of the volcanic belt.
