Abstract:
The determination of geochemical baseline in an ore concentration area is the basic task for investigating and evaluating the mine environmental geology, and the selection of appropriate method for calculating geochemical baseline is the key to this problem. With the topsoil in the Dexing copper ore concentration area as the research object, the authors employed geochemical comparison method, relative cumulative frequencies method and normalization procedure to calculate geochemical baselines of six heavy metals in the topsoil in the study area. Then, these geochemical baselines were compared with geochemical backgrounds of Jiangxi Province. In addition, an analysis was made in the light of heavy metal content of mother rocks. It is concluded that the geochemical baseline determined by normalization procedure is the relatively suitable one.
