Abstract:
Using remote sensing technique, the authors studied the remote sensing geological characteristics of copper-polymetallic deposits in Mount Isa, Australia. Based on the EMT image data, the authors summarized and analyzed the image features of regional stratigraphy, structure and magmatic rocks by using remote sensing geology and mineral resources interpretation in Mount Isa. Through investigating three typical copper-polymetallic deposits, such as the Mount Isa copper deposit, the remote sensing image characteristics of the ore-controlling factors were analyzed, and a remote sensing geological prospecting model was put forward for this type of copper-polymetallic deposits. According to this model, the authors determined a potential prospecting area which is matched well with remote sensing geological characteristics. On the basis of investigating and analyzing image data, the prospecting target area was delineated and further reduced, which could provide the guidance for reducing blindness in mining investment abroad.
