Abstract:
The ancient lake lines are distributed extensively at north foot of Mt Bayankala, also the lake sediments and lacustrine topography. At present, 4 levels of lake terraces, multi-level of lake sediments and high level paleo-lacustrine sedimentation can be clearly observed around the shore of Lake Zhaling and Lake Eling. Exposed maximum altitude of lake sediments is 4615 meters, exceeding 328 meters of the modern Lake Zhaling and 346 meters of the Lake Eling. Multi-level lakeshore piled terraces or base terrace, lake sediments and high level paleo-lacustrine sediments distribute in the Lake Zhaling and Lake Eling valley basin. Multi-level paleo-lacustrine sediments and high level paleo-lacustrine sedimentation whose altitudes are about 50m to 350m above modern Lake Zhaling and Lake Eling distribute locally at bedrock hills of Xiaoyemaling, Dayemalin, Lake Zhaling north and other areas. The forming age of the lacustrine sedimentation from ancient high level lake at the north foot of Mt. Bayankala could be middle Pleistocene epoch.
