Abstract:
Landslide danger assessment is the important content and basis of landslide risk management and its results will impact the effect of management directly. There is no unifying method or system of assessments of landslide hazards in China till now. In this paper, by taking the Wanzhou District, Chongqing Municipality, as the research target, the authors introduced the “root factor contributing weight model” to assess the landslide danger level, which has a definite physical meaning and is easy to operate, and accomplished the landslide danger assessment in the GIS software. The results accord with the actual conditions by test. The highly dangerous places cover 22.3% of the area of the whole district; the moderately dangerous places, 40.7%; and the low dangerous places, 37.0%. The number of landslides contained in highly and moderately dangerous places makes up 77.6% of the total number of landslides in the whole district.
