Abstract:
With the popularization and development of GIS, the very large data quantity and great complexity of spatial information and difficulty in information share present a new challenge to its research and application. Spatial Information Grid (SIG), as the innovative infrastructure and technical system of network spatial information, provides a new method for solving problems such as how to increase the data capacity, how to solve complex data and how to share spatial data. According to the basic definition and characteristics of SIG given in the paper, useful exploration and practice have been undertaken in respect to mineral resource evaluation based on SIG, which has yielded good results and provided a new method and idea for mineral resource evaluation.
