Abstract:
Preliminary study carried out on the methodology for the environmental geochemistry of Suzhou urban soils shows that the main contaminated zone is distributed in the residential area in the southeast, industrial area in the west and concentration area of timber processing factories in the east and along arterial highways. The main pollutants are heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and organic chloride pesticides. The key methodology for urban soil environmental geochemical research is to determine the soil sampling density and items of analysis according to the physiographic environment, functional divisions and distribution area of the contaminated zone in the city.
