Abstract:
An unconformity was first found between the Upper Triassic Quehala Group and its underlying rock series in the Lanagou area, Baila Township, Baingoin County, Tibet, in the central segment of the Bangong Co-Nujiang junction zone. The finding of this contact relationship confirms that Paleo-Tethyan ophiolites exist inside the Bangong Co-Nujiang junction zone and suggests that the Neo-Tethys domain represented by the Bangong Co-Nujiang junction zone inherited the Paleo-Tethys domain and developed on the basis of the Paleo-Tethys.
