GEOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE LOWER PROTEROZOIC BADU GROUP OF SOUTHWESTERN ZHEJIANG AND ITS IMPLICATIONS

Abstract: According to the latest research results this paper deals with the grounds for the establishment of the Lower proterozoic Badu Group(2050-2400 Ma), division of metamorphosed strata and protolith formations, structural deformation, metamorphism and granitic magmatism, regional correlation and the geological age and significance. Tt is considered that the Badu Group is one of the oldest supracrustal rock sequences on the southeastern continental margin of China and is a component part of the Early precambrian continental platform of China.
