Abstract:
This paper deals with some paleomagnetic features of Precambrian strata in Hunan province .On the basis of the paleomagnetic data and qualitative comparative studies, the authors discuss in detail the temporal-spatial relationships of the Wuling movement (1000 Ma B.P.)and Xuefeng movement (800 Ma B.P.)with the Lengjiaxi Group ,Banxi Group (Gaojian Group)and Sinian strata. The APWP curves show that the Hunan microcontinental block has a close affinity with the Yangtze paleocontinental block, both of which had drifted to their present locations before the Cambrian.
