Abstract:
This study reports the discovery of the Early Cretaceous conchostracan fossils and plant fossils in the Hongguoerjiwula intermontane basin, northwest of Yingen-Ejina Basin. The conchostracan fossils were founded belong to 1 genus and 2 species named
Diestheria yixianensis Chen and
Diestheria longinqua Chen.Five genus(species) plant fossils were founded include:
Podozamites sp.,
Equisetites sp.,
Baiera sp.,
Nilssonia sp.,
Czekanowskia sp..The conchostracan fossils mentioned above are very important components of Jehol biota, and the plant fossils are also common components in Mesozoic strata during Late Triassic to Late Cretaceous.Biostratigraphic classification evidence suggests that the era of the strata is Early Cretaceous and incorporated into Bayingebi Fromation. The discovery of these fossils, enriches the research contents of Mesozoic biostratigraphy in Yingen-Ejina Basin, provides the latest reference for the stratigraphic correlation of the Early Cretaceous in the basin.
