Abstract:
The Weihe Basin, located between the Ordos Block and the Qinling Orogenic Belt, is an active zone of tectonic movement with numerous large active lineaments and is also a region of frequent seismic activity. In this study, an automate extraction method based on edge detection algorithm was applied to extract the lineaments of the Weihe Basin using ALOS PALSAR DEM data. We conduct a correlation analysis between the results of lineaments and the seismic distribution, as well as geological features in the study area. Based on existing data, a model using the weighted information entropy analysis method was established to assess the seismic risk and regional variations in the Weihe Basin. The following conclusions were drawn: ⑴ The lineament extracted using DEM data with a resolution of 12.5 meters can effectively eliminate the influence of artificial linear traces and well reflect the distribution of surface structures. ⑵ The spatial distribution of earthquakes and lineaments in the study area exhibits a strong correlation, indicating that seismic activity in this region is primarily controlled by active faults. ⑶ Seismic risk assessment was conducted by the integration of geological and geophysical data in the Weihe Basin, the spatial distribution characteristics of seismic risk in the area were obtained, providing a reference for subsequent disaster prevention and mitigation.
