The application of land quality geochemical survey results to permanent basic farmland classification technology

    • This paper aims to explore the process of thinking and procedure of applying geochemical indicators and land environmental indicators obtained from geochemical investigation of land quality to evaluating land quality of basic farmland and guaranteeing the realization of the aim that the land quality of basic farmland meet the demands of quantity as well as quality, safety and other requirements of agricultural products. Based on analyses of the concept and function of basic farmland, its delimitation, the relevance of land quality indicators with geochemical survey results, and some other aspects, the authors put forward methods, ideas and work processes for enriching the database of basic farmland and applying such indexes as safety and quality index of agricultural products, soil fertility index and ecological environmental index in the division of basic farmland and the evaluation of basic farmland reserve districts. Indexes and maps resulting from the land quality geochemical research should be incorporated into the maps, tables and lists of basic farmland; land of super class Ⅲ standard soil shouldn't be considered as basic farmland; rich selenium concentrated area with no pollution should be directly incorporated into the list of basic farmland; other indicators could be included into comprehensive evaluation according to the requirements of different functional areas. Researchers should further absorb geological, geochemical and other data to make a comprehensive scientific evaluation of physical, chemical, ecological and geographical aspects that affect cultivated land, so as to reflect the essential attributes of land resources.
