Discovery of the Carboniferous in the Yanghe(Wushan)-Gucheng(Lixian)area and its geological significance

Through regional geological survey,a sequence of Carboniferous sedimentary strata is divorced from the strata originally assigned to the Upper Devonian Dacaotan Group and Middle Devonian Shujiaba Group in the Yanghe(Wushan)-Gucheng(Lixian)area in the West Qinling.According to conodont ,coral and foraminifera fossils discovered,the geological age of this sequence of sedimentary strata is Early Carboniferous.
